A local of Colvale was arrested on charges of possessing narcotic drugs, police informed.
The alleged accused Sura Sukhanand Fadte (27) is in custody of Colvale police.
According to Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi, after getting specific information, a team of Colvale police led by PI Vijay Rane conducted a raid near the Binanis, Colvale and apprehended the accused.
The accused was found in possession of 12 grams of suspected MDMA and 200gms of suspected ganja all worth Rs 1.40 lakh.
The vehicle used in transporting the substance has also been seized by the police.
An FIR under Section 22(c) & 20(b) (ii) (A) of the NDPS Act 1985 has been registered against the accused.
Police informed that the entire operation was conducted under the overall supervision of SP North, Nidhin Valson (IPS) and Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi.
Further investigation is in progress.
